Angel City Brewery Kicks Off Monthly Clean Ups January 25 On Venice Beach

New Locations, Old Friends, Good Deeds, Great Beer

Los Angeles, CA (January 20, 2014) — January 25, 12-3 pm marks the kick off of Angel City Brewery’s Monthly Neighborhood Clean Up campaign with an afternoon in Venice. Part of its year-round “Be An Angel” program, the brewery is inviting fans, friends, employees and good Samaritans of all stripes to join in cleaning up different neighborhoods all around Los Angeles.

On a weekend-day each month participants will gather at a local bar or restaurant in the neighborhood, be given a volunteer t-shirt, pair of gloves, trash bags and a trash picker. The group will help beautify the community, and then gather back at the bar for tasty bites and cold beer — a great way to do some good while getting to know LA’s diverse neighborhoods.  The February 8th Clean Up is in Echo Park. For full details on clean up locations, dates and times can be found on Angel City Brewery’s Events Calendar.

“We are so thrilled to be thriving in Los Angeles,” said Marketing Manager Emily Hope. “It is only right that we actually participate in our community and give back as much as we can. By making it fun for our friends and fans, we try to instill a philosophy of philanthropy that makes doing good feel great.”

In addition to the Clean Ups, the Be An Angel program includes a six-month long campaign beginning in February through which Angel City guests are asked if they could donate $200 to a non-profit of their choice – which would it be, and why. Each month Angel City will choose one answer at random, and donate $200 to the charity of their choice. The winning entrant will also win a VIP brewery tour led Brewer Dieter Foerstner. To submit an entry, visit starting February 1st.

February is also National Cancer Awareness Month and the brewery is supporting the “Keep Abreast” organization. They’ll be kicking off the partnership with a brand new mural painting on Rose Street, along with a new art exhibit opening February 14.  Throughout the entire month, Angel City will be donating $1 from the sale of every pink pomegranate and blue raspberry Berliner Weisse sold in the Public House (the pink and blue of the syrup represent Keep Abreast’s colors).

These events and partnerships are just a few of the many that will be brought to life under the banner of Be An Angel 2014. For more information on these and all brewery events visit the Events Calendar. Giving back to its community is a critical part of Angel City’s mission. Philanthropy+Friends+Fun
